The Western North Carolina Bandmasters Association is a section of the
North Carolina Bandmasters Association.
Membership is made up of band directors from Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey counties.

REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL
The 2023-2024 District Membership application is available. Click the button below to complete the registration process. Please make sure you do this ASAP at the beginning of each school year. This will keep everyone's contact information up to date and help event chairs with planning for the year. You must complete this online form to be officially registered for our district. This is DUE for all directors by SEPT 1st.

AUDITIONS
Auditions for the 2024 Western District All-District Band will take place again this year at Tuscola High School.
- High School auditions will be Thursday, January 18 (4-9PM)
- Middle School auditions will be Saturday, January 20 (10AM-4PM)
- An AUDITION FEE of $12 per instrument (except percussion) should be mailed to the district treasurer (Kimberley Benson) along with the printed list of students and instruments
- Online registration completed and checks must be postmarked by December 22, 2024

DISTRICT CLINIC
The 2024 Western District Honors Band will be held at Western Carolina University on Friday and Saturday, February 9-10.
- A CLINIC FEE of $10 per student will be collected at registration - Only School/Booster checks OR Cash will be accepted.
- Middle School registration will be in the Coulter Building Recital Hall Lobby
- High School registration will be in the Bardo Performing Arts Center Lobby

Registration Deadlines: Google Registration Form due by the conclusion of the district business meeting on February 10th and mail in registration form/check postmarked by February 16th. The February 11th deadline will help us get an idea of how many bands to prepare for and how to best create a schedule due to this being a combined middle and high school event again this year.

Repertoire Reporting Form (complete this form to report your selections for the program and in lieu of a paper repertoire reporting form- This is due February 17th so that a program can be created early, but changes can be made at a later time if needed)

Because this is a combined event for middle and high school with a judge from each level, you will be able to request any of the 3 days to attend MPA regardless of your performance level. We will also do our best to ensure that Grade 1-3 bands will not only have to perform in the morning despite this being a combined event. We have secured 4 great Adjudicators this year:
